Mother and child: family photography that celebrates the magic and chaos of motherhood
Well, if you have come to this website a few times, you’ll expect photographs that depict real moments and real emotions. Family photography that celebrates the magic and the chaos of the here and the now. And in the case, today, of motherhood.
You may have taken part in sharing your thoughts on motherhood in our motherhood blog recently. I very much loved every single contribution on its own merit and felt very grateful that so many of you opened up so readily.
Photographing families for me is, first and foremost, about giving you a chance to have fantastic professional images of your family with YOU in them.
That is, essentially, the number 1 reason why mums (and dads!) book me. Nowadays, phones take pretty amazing photographs with regards to quality. You can get great sharpness from a phone indeed. However, you are probably looking for a family photographer because you are looking for an “eye”, for an ability to capture “the moment”… which us photographers do professionally!
Mother’s Day this year, going back to the point of this blog entry must have felt quite bizarre to all mums out there. It’s been well publicized and documented now that mums’ levels of anxiety during the past year have rocketed. It is still a reality, despite things gradually changing for the better, that mums are the principal caregivers in a household, and having to juggle homeschooling with potentially work demands, as well as parenting on either side, has clearly taken its toll. So I wonder whether Mother’s Day 2021 felt a little like “Yes, I damn right deserve all the extra attention you guys may show me extraordinarily on this day”. Well, you tell me, did it?
