Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photography: even rain couldn’t take those grins away

Every time heavy rain is due on a wedding day, for some reason, the worst always seems to happen during the ceremony. I have never understood how the sky knows what’s needed.

I met Becky and Dave an hour before the ceremony so we’d have time to take a little walk around the Mews streets of London for some couples’ portraits. Admittedly, I am glad I was wearing a long waterproof coat but still it was all very feasible. And two things that I love about rain on a wedding is that a) water makes all the colours of buildings pop out and b) overcast is so much easier to work with in terms of light…

I am always so surprised how quickly I bond with my couples. Maybe because I am very relaxed or because I love people generally, but within 10 minutes, I felt so at ease and in turn, they did too, and that meant we could enjoy our photoshoot and relax into it.

After a walk around the block, we headed over to the Old Marylebone Townhall to meet with Becky and Dave’s family. 20 mins or so later, they came out of the building grinning from ear to ear.

Then it was a short cab drive to The Goring… where I do need to return to sample their lobster omelette (food is my friend…). I LOVE cab drives with a passion. Especially just before or just after the “I do”, there is excitement either way and lots of affection displayed. Cabs are 100% better than Ubers to take because I can get in the back with you and sit opposite you, which I means I have access to nice light and lovely moments to capture.

Anyway, here are a lovely couple, a truly lovely couple, with their truly lovely family.
