Chenies Manor Wedding Photography: another brilliant Autumn wedding

This year my October was busier than my July or August. 9 weddings in October! A very popular month indeed. Our climate is now warmer and warmer which means that a wedding on the 1st October, as this one was, saw the majority of the guests comfortably wearing shirts outside and not hiding indoors from the cold until much later that night.

When I ask my couples why October is attractive to them, yes price comes into it, but it’s also the colours they love. And… the fact that it is not uncomfortably hot. July and August 2022 recorded the highest temperatures on record… and whilst you always make the most of what you have on your wedding day, I have to admit that there were a couple of Saturdays in July where a) I saw a few guests becoming unwell with the heat b) I became unwell with the heat… so if October is full of colours, it’s more comfortable and it’s slightly cheaper, then why would you not choose Autumn as a your wedding season?

For Katie and Sam, I have to say that 1st October was completely idyllic. It was lovely and overcast during the group shots at the Church and the sky cleared as they arrived at the venue, in time for the champagne corks to pop and for the party to begin.

It was my first time shooting at Chenies Manor House and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to say that the guests and the couple, for me, is always what makes my working day a good one though. Yes it hugely helps when a venue is welcoming and doesn’t forget to feed me, but, for me, a good day is basically a day where I can let go in my creative flow and do what I was hired to do: tell my clients’ story.

And here is Katie and Sam’s story.

Katie who loves being around both children and adults alike. Katie whose dry humour and love of sarcasm often culminate in an affectionate middle-finger pointed in your direction. Katie with the zero tolerance for fake emotions. Katie who lost her mum at the age of 15 and thus has an insane amount of empathy for those around her.

Sam, a fairly shy Sam.But also an incredibly insightful, thoughtful and caring Sam. A Sam with a family and friends who adore him. A Sam surrounded by a crowd who are there to celebrate him.

Here are a few images of the day that capture Katie and Sam’s story.
