What if your wedding was not like every other wedding?

So you’re planning your wedding for 2025 or beyond and have a fairly different vision of what it should be. It’s different to the 6 other weddings you’ve been to this year, but you don’t care. Because this time, your big day, is about you both.

Indeed, what if you decided for your big day to be a little big day? One with two guests and not 200? What if you decided that you wanted to get ready with your spouse-to-be in your simple abode, not a 4* star hotel. What if you decided that your bridal bouquet should be picked up from a local florist that morning, at the last minute. What if you decided that your “I do” should be as simple as it can be?

Well, be my guest. Please be my guest. Don’t get me wrong, I love all types of weddings… couldn’t bear the thought of photographing just one type… love telling all sorts of stories for all types of people. The more diverse the stories I tell, the happier I am. But… there is something truly magical about small weddings. Something quite fundamental is totally absent… and that is: stress. Stress. The biggest wedding mood killer. The one feeling that can turn any lovely kind human being into a pile of unfriendly nerves… So yes, I LOVE small weddings. Small affairs. Small anything… because I find that we can find as much tenderness, laughter, love, affection and energy in a room of 30 as we can in a room of 200. It all depends on people.

So if you are thinking small and some people are trying to dissuade you, ignore them. Trust your gut. Always trust your gut. Because the single most important aspect of your wedding you need to plan for on the day is how you both want to feel: relaxed? Loved up? Celebrated? You can feel all this with a handful of people or just you two.

Love doesn’t have to be loud. It can be. But it doesn’t have to be.

Here is an example of a 2 hour wedding with 2 guests I covered back in the summer. We started at Charlotte and George’s one bedroom flat, had a little walk together and finished just after the ceremony.

“Emily, we absolutely LOVE our pictures and would absolutely recommend you to anyone we know”.

My 2 hour coverage packages start from £695 and not available on Saturdays. I limit the numbers of weddings I take on every year so I can give 110% of my energy, attention and creativity to every single client, so do book soon to avoid disappointment. I have 5 spots left for 2025 but plenty more for 2026.
