Camden Town Hall Wedding Photography: Just the three of us… all plans are good plans…

“We’re a month away from a mini human turning up. We’re getting married alone next week and it dawned on us we need a photographer. We’re asking strangers to be our witnesses and we just want a few hours of our time on the day documented. Oh and we’re uber shy and self-conscious.”…. That was my brief… and you know what, I love a brief like that. Because a) it tells me you’re very relaxed b) it tells me you trust me and c) it means we are going to have a good time. The three of you, so the four of us (bump counts as one, obvs).

Fraser and Robyn didn’t want the big wedding plans. They wanted all their attention to go on their little one… with one big party planned for the following summer. Who can blame them?

So they both came down from up North for a London-based elopement, and enveloped me with their gorgeous accent and typical northern warmth for a few hours whilst we clicked away in the streets of London for a couple of hours together.

We started in Camden Town Hall… which was recently refurbished and offers small parties an absolutely spectacular way of celebrating an “I do”. And I am not just saying this because I’d like to return there, I’m saying this because it’s true AND the staff there couldn’t do more for their couples (and all suppliers) on the day. If you are considering different registry offices around London for your big day, you can measure the quality of one just by observing two things? Do they have ushers? Do they welcome anyone in with a smile? These two attributes will tell you everything you need to know. Ushers are vital in busy London registry offices. They make sure people are where they need to be at all times… this is vital to ensure the exclusive feel of a venue. No couple wants to feel like they are one of 100 on that day, or made to feel they are on a convey belt. Registry offices like Camden, or Marylebone or Lambeth all have ushers and this makes a world of difference to your whole experience. And then the smile. The warm welcome as you arrive. That’s also incredibly important. Your day needs to feel warm, validating, welcoming, positive at all times.

So here are a few images from my time with Fraser, Robyn and bump. We took a little wander around the neighbour of St Pancras and found quite a few pretty cool backdrops… London is like that. It’s beautiful and wonderful and magical and chaotic in equal measures. Just depends on your mindset.

If you’d like me to capture your big little day next year, get in touch. I have 5 spots left for 2025 so best enquire as soon as possible. I anticipate being fully booked by early February.

Let me know if you have any questions.
