Wiltshire Wedding Photography: Every single memory counts. Every. Single. One.

It’s August the 13th, another ridiculously hot day, and this time in Wiltshire, on the family farm. A farm that is generations-old and single-handedly built by Lara’s grand-father, a wonderful character full of wonderful stories.

I know I am in for a visual treat as, when I arrive, I can see the tables in the barn already all set out and my oh my, it’s heavenly. Higgledy-piggledy cutlery and crockery accumulated from charity shops from the previous year populate the tables with insane charm. I make my way to the front door and Lara greets me in jeans with a big hug and an equally big smile.

Within minutes, I feel like I have known the family for a long time. The groom is gathering the last bits and pieces, and heads off to the church, and leaves me with Lara, Laura (her mum), and James (her dad).

I felt the value of every single moment I photographed that day. Every single one.

From Lara’s application of mascara on her mum, to her being driven to the church in a tractor by her dad, to her walking down the aisle to “Into my Arms’ by Nick Cave (If you know, you know), to mum singing in church with infectious enthusiasm, to Lara’s contagious laughter as she kisses her groom after saying “I do”, to Kieran’s incredibly poignant speech to his new wife, to mum dancing with her sister; James looking at his wife and daughter with so much tenderness; a best man’s speech that is laced with both wit and love towards his family and his new brother-in-law; even more dancing across friendship groups and across generations; the quirky band from Kieran’s uni days, the insanely beautiful cake made by Kieran’s insanely talented sister; the family dogs that are given a million hugs every time they are accidentally being trampled on….

Indeed the most cheerful day. A day that is just full of love for life. That sort of love for life that becomes a spark in someone’s eye. The sort of spark you notice the minute you meet them. That spark that had so clearly been handed down from mother to daughter.

What a beautiful legacy.

So here are the memories for one of the most positive days I have photographed this year. Positive purely for the way it embraced life and was committed to living it every minute of every hour.

Indeed, here are Lara, and Kieran, and Laura and James on their one day… on the 13th August.
