Wedding Photography in Bridport, Dorset: the day when my stomach muscles hurt…

Did I start this with too much information? Well… who cares… I am in the mood to share…

So this is back in September… mid September, when the sun is still shining, and the temperatures don’t make your breath steamed up. It’s also a perfect wedding day and I set off at a cosy 6 am from Herts to drive down to Bridport, Dorset.

Been looking forward to this wedding for a while. Had had a couple of consultations with Helena, the bride, and we’d had such a nice laugh then, that I knew I was in for a treat.

I arrive at a very comfortable 9 am (after a little detour of which only myself and the bride know about…), giving me a couple of hours to find my feet, eat a hearty breakfast and update all my social media. Perfect.

And it was a treat. Because Helena is like so many brides and grooms who book me -human, perfectly imperfect and honest about it, sincere, upfront, kind, fun, and totally loves to laugh and hug tight. And that’s what she did, and her family. All day. Do you ever come across people whose laughter is so contagious you don’t need to know what they are laughing about, your belly starts to go before you even know what the joke is? Well Helena and Neil were like that. Salt of the earth.

So here are a few pics from the day. It was a great day. The venue, The Bull Hotel in Bridport, Dorset (Not Greater Manchester) (private joke with the bride) worked very hard to make their day as magical as possible, the flowers , from Jessie Copper, were insanely beautiful (for the life of me, that team totally transformed the space with her creative flair and love for flowers) and the cake from Lilac Pig was… well… insane… travelled all the way to Manchester and still looked like I could have it all by myself, which I would have done given half the chance… And a brilliant DJ, Éadaoin Dooley, who also made laugh until my stomach muscles hurt.

I eventually made it back home at around 1am. A 19 hour day… but you know what… one of the best days of the summer. And one of the ones where I laughed the most.
